Getting into Vibe Coding
Recently, I have been playing with vibe coding. I have been shocked by how quickly, with no experience, anyone can create a working (albeit simple) app.
For example, I have a family member who has a shopping addiction. For fun, I had OpenAI’s Codex create a small tongue in cheek iPhone app called “Buy This?”. In a variety of hilarious ways the app always tells the person no to a purchase they are seeking advice on. The app took a total of 20 minutes from giving Codex a very high level idea of what I wanted to having a working prototype on my iPhone. It designed the layout, created the graphics, coded up the static webpage, and came up with most of the hilarious replies on its own in that time.
